Felden Hall School in Hemel Hempstead has officially welcomed its first cohort of pupils, creating new employment opportunities for the local community and increasing access to specialist education for families across Hertfordshire.
Felden Hall provides specialist education for children and young people aged six to 16 with ADHD, autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and social and emotional needs. The school has been purposefully designed to deliver a nurturing, therapeutic and highly personalised learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
The school has opened with a full multidisciplinary team, including teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral support and an in-house clinical team. In doing so, Felden Hall School has created employment opportunities for 25 local people, supporting the local economy while bringing specialist expertise into the community.
Ian Reid, Head Teacher of Felden Hall School, said: "After months of planning and preparation, we are delighted to welcome our first pupils. Our school has been designed to provide the specialist education and therapeutic support that children with complex needs deserve. Every pupil who joins us will be given the opportunity to grow in confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and achieve outcomes that will help shape a positive future. We are incredibly proud to begin this journey alongside them and their families."
As the school begins its first academic year, the team are looking forward to working closely with pupils, families and local authorities to ensure every child receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.
