Schools across WG celebrate Pride Month

30 JUNE 2026

Schools across WG have been busy celebrating Pride Month by taking part in creative activities that highlight inclusion, respect, and equality.

Here is a roundup of just some of the fun and learning that has taken place.

Pupils from our Bridgeway School marked the occasion with whole-school assemblies, LGBTQ+ phobia lessons, and class activities focused on inclusion. A colourful rainbow paperchain was created, with each link sharing positive messages of support, alongside pledges from pupils to stand as allies and promote equality.

Over at Castlefell School, pupils showed their creativity through designing bags and flags, proudly displayed around the school.

PSHE lessons at Cheshire Hall School helped pupils explore the history and importance of Pride, learning about LGBTQ+ awareness, equality, and inclusion. They studied the evolution of the Pride flag and created their own diversity decorationsand discovered inspiring LGBTQ+ figures.

Meanwhile, Pride was brought to life at Dovetree School with a rainbow colour run, filling the school with energy, colour, and celebration.

At The Grange Learning Centre, keen fashion designers put their expertise to the test in a tie-dye t-shirt making activity, adding even more colour to the celebrations.
