Witherslack Group is proud to be shortlisted at the Children & Young People Now Awards 2026, earning recognition in the new SEND Award category for the innovative Futures programme.
The award celebrates organisations delivering exceptional outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Following a judging day at The Children's Society's London office, a panel of 18 judges reviewed more than 300 applications and selected 132 outstanding entries for the shortlist across 24 categories, highlighting the exceptional innovation and impact being delivered across the sector.
Our Futures programme plays a vital role in helping young people prepare for life beyond education. Acting as a bridge between education and employment, it connects students with a network of more than 300 employer partners, ranging from local businesses to leading national and global organisations, including Wagamama, TrustFord, Microsoft and Mercedes-Benz.
Through meaningful employer engagement, work-related learning opportunities, and tailored support, Futures helps young people develop the skills, confidence, and experiences needed to progress into employment, further education, and greater independence.
The Futures programme's impact has already received national recognition. Earlier this year, we won the Education Awards Transforming Lives Through Partnerships category, recognising our commitment to working collaboratively to improve outcomes for children and young people with the most complex needs.

A panel of young judges will now review shortlisted entries, whose insights will help determine the overall winners.
The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on 26 November 2026 at Novotel London West, where organisations from across the education, care and children's services sectors will come together to celebrate outstanding achievements and the individuals making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people.
