World Book Day 2025

03 MARCH 2025

Children, young people and teams across WG recently celebrated World Book Day 2025. From transforming themselves into their favourite characters to visits from authors, there was an array of activities celebrating the world of literature.

Our Bescot Hall School celebrated the day by welcoming Dave Cousins, a children’s book writer. During Dave’s visit, he spoke to the pupils about their favourite books and shared insights about life as an author.

At Bridgeway School, the environment was transformed into a wonderful world of storybooks.  Scenes from famous tales came to life in classrooms, and hallways were lined with book-themed displays. Some pupils even went the extra mile by coordinating their costumes to the displays.

Wrenfield and Elmbank Learning Centres hosted a Mad Hatters afternoon tea party where pupils enjoyed some delicious sweet treats while showing off their incredible costumes.

Over at Hilden Park School, they embraced their passion for reading with a costume competition and took the opportunity to decorate their Extreme Reading Board, which features pictures of pupils reading in the weirdest and most wonderful spaces. Pupils and the team also spent time decorating their ‘Favourite Books’ Tree.
