Hall Cliffe Primary School Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary In Style

09 APRIL 2026

Pupils, parents, carers and the team from Hall Cliffe Primary School in Wakefield celebrated the school’s 10-year anniversary with a day full of joy, creativity and community spirit.

The event reflected the school's inclusive ethos. Following a request from the School Council, the day featured a buffet lunch, a disco with pupils taking on DJ duties, and outdoor fun in the sunshine, including an egg and spoon race. The afternoon concluded with the much-anticipated ‘Hall Cliffe’s Got Talent’ show, where pupils demonstrated their talents, from solo singing and dancing to artwork displays and drumming performances.

Hall Cliffe Primary School has built a strong reputation for its nurturing and inspiring learning environment. The school adapts the national curriculum to meet the individual needs of its pupils and provides therapeutic support where required. Its Futures programme also plays a key role in broadening pupils’ horizons by introducing them to career opportunities through partnerships with local businesses in the Wakefield area.

This strong sense of belonging and community is central to the school’s ethos, where pupils feel safe, valued and understood. The team works closely with families and external professionals to create a consistent and supportive network around each child, developing  trust, confidence and emotional wellbeing. The inclusive environment empowers pupils to engage positively with their learning and develop both socially and academically. This is reflected in the school’s excellent attendance record, with an average attendance of 97.55% over the past four years, an achievement that highlights the positive engagement of pupils and families alike.

Rick Horton, Head Teacher, commented:

“Celebrating ten years of our school is a moment of immense pride for me and for everyone who has been part of this journey. What makes me especially proud is not just what we have achieved, but how we have achieved it, through dedication, care, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential. It is a privilege to lead such an inspiring place, and I look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.”

As Hall Cliffe Primary School looks to the future, it remains committed to supporting children and families across Wakefield and beyond, continuing to provide opportunities, inspiration and a place where every child can thrive.
