Celebrating learning, action, and impact during Global Goals Week

26 SEPTEMBER 2025

For Global Goals Week, Witherslack Group schools were proud to stand out as the only ones taking part in the worldwide celebration, where children and young people came together to learn, take action, and celebrate the UN Global Goals.

Our Futures Team partnered with 2030hub, the world’s first UN-recognised Local2030 Hub, who supported us throughout the campaign. Throughout the week-long event, pupils took part in a wide range of activities, ensuring they had the opportunity to engage meaningfully with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which are part of a 15-year programme that outlines a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

By engaging in Global Goals Week, our schools gave children and young people the opportunity to see themselves as changemakers, learning how their everyday choices and actions could help create a better and more sustainable future for everyone.

Our pupils took part in:

  • Themed lessons exploring the 17 Global Goals
  • Interactive activities that inspired curiosity and action
  • Guest speakers and workshops that brought the Goals to life
  • Resources and materials that continued the conversation beyond the week

Our pupils were deeply inspired by this week-long celebration to integrate the Global Goals into their daily lives. The result? Increased curiosity, empathy, and a strong sense of global responsibility. Through their actions now, they are actively creating a brighter, more sustainable future for everyone.
