About Abbeywood School

Abbeywood School is an independent specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Based in Rotherham, the school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside a range of other associated conditions.

We are committed to building effective relationships with our pupils to nurture a love of learning in a safe learning environment, where they can prepare for their future. We believe that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable process. Our vocational and practical offerings, coupled with a strong focus on literacy and personal growth, help pupils build confidence, develop skills, and prepare for success for life beyond Abbeywood. We are innovative and relentless in our support. We do not give up, resulting in us being privileged to witness our learners exceed expectations. They make us proud every single day. We are passionate about helping our children and young people become responsible citizens, empowering them to make meaningful connections with themselves, their communities, and the wider world. Aims and ethos

At Abbeywood School we are committed to providing our pupils with a caring, positive and welcoming learning environment for them to achieve their full potential in their education and develop their social communication.

The broad curriculum allows pupils to pursue both academic and vocational paths allowing individuals to strive in their areas of strength.
