Play your part in supporting young people to achieve great things

Deliver support that every child deserves

As a Residential Support Worker you’ll play your part in helping our young people achieve, succeed and develop.

This isn’t just another job, it is an opportunity to not only connect and positively influence the lives of young people, but also a platform to build a career for yourself that offers development, qualifications and job security.

You’ll play your part in helping our young people achieve academically through supporting them with their homework; succeeding socially by encouraging them as they take on new challenges that broaden their horizons; and developing emotionally as you become their role model and set the standards they aspire to in life.

Through your actions and advice as a children's residential support worker, you’ll help them to achieve the futures they deserve and equip them with skills and knowledge they need.

Working with us

Our children and young people need consistent role models in their lives, which is where you come in.  This isn’t for everyone though and there will be challenges along the way.  That said, the rewards of seeing the young people progress under our care is priceless and the sense of achievement makes the challenge really worthwhile.

We’ll be with you every step of the way and constantly reflect, adapt and improve to be the best employer we possibly can be.  We’ll help you continue your professional development and ensure you have everything you need.

Our young people can be going through an upsetting time, therefore they may express this through challenging behaviours – as a children's residential support worker you’ll be given comprehensive training to understand Positive Behaviour Support and how to deescalate and handle any situation.

You’re not just joining a home, you’re becoming part of a family.  Our children’s homes work in tandem with our Witherslack Group schools and our dedicated Clinical Services Team. We all work together; supporting, encouraging and reflecting, to ensure every child and young person thrives with us.

Where will it take you?

Becoming a Residential Support Worker is not the end of the road for your career here at WG. We support our employees to constantly train and develop their skills to be the very best at what they do.
