About SENsational

SENsational is Witherslack Group’s podcast dedicated to special educational needs. It brings together expert insight, real conversations, and lived experience to support parents, carers, and educators of neurodivergent children and young people.

We share practical advice and guidance, while raising awareness, challenging misconceptions, and celebrating neurodiversity. Our mission is to create an inclusive platform that informs, empowers, and inspires those who care about education, wellbeing, and making a difference.

Our host

Alisha works as a Psychologist for Witherslack Group and is the host of the SENsational podcast. She joined Witherslack Group with the aim of supporting children to gain an education, within an environment that feels safe, nurturing and engaging

Alisha’s role involves working directly with students to help them develop psychological flexibility, offering space to reflect and learn strategies to manage daily challenges. She also supports staff by providing guidance, training, and a shared understanding of how best to work with students.

Previously, she worked in the prison service, supporting adults and young people with complex needs and offending behaviour through risk assessments, interventions, training, and supervision.

Outside of work, Alisha is a mum of two, and enjoys performing arts, musicals, travelling, and watching TV.
