On Thursday 9th July, we're delighted to welcome parents and carers in and around Bristol to join us for a day of learning, practical advice, strategies and tips for supporting you and your child or young person with SEN. This free event, taking place in our new Turner Court School also includes a EHCP drop in clinic and the opportunity to tour the school, which is due to open in Autumn 2026.

Turner Court School, an independent, specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Bristol, the school will meet the needs of pupils with a diagnosis of autism, and a range of additional needs such as ADHD, speech and language difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated behavioural difficulties.

Helping Your SEN Child Thrive: Sleep, Social & Emotional Health

Event Agenda

10am: Introduction from the Head Teacher

10:15am: Understanding SEN, Children, and Sleep: Challenges, Impacts, and Strategies

Presented by Helen Rutherford, Specialist Sleep Practitioner from The Sleep Charity

  • Understanding the physiology of sleep, why children with SEN struggle more than other children, and a tool-kit of strategies tailored for our children.

11:30am: Reducing Anxiety: Social Interactions, Emotional Regulation & Behaviours

Presented by our Clinical Services Team

  • An introduction to therapeutic practices to support your child at home, looking at social interaction and communication, ideas and tips for your child's emotional regulation, and behaviour support in the home environment.

12:30pm: Tour of the School

12:30pm - 2pm: EHCP Advice and Support Drop In Clinic

  • This drop in session is designed for parents and carers who are at the beginning of their child's SEN journey and would like some additional support and guidance on obtaining an EHCP, appealing the process, the school admissions process at one of our schools, and more.
