Hair raising experiences
There was a sense of intrigue at Chilworth House Upper School when Abdullah Din, TA, relayed the story of how he experienced an ‘electric shock’ from his shopping trolley.
Ready to find the facts and understand why this happened, Class 9X learned that the 'shock' is known as static energy, where electricity is created when positive and negative charges aren't balanced.
They then demonstrated this by using the Van de Graaf generator to make Thomas’ hair stand on end - what a hair raising experience!
We wonder what their next experiment will be?
Hair raising experience for pupils!
