A new year with a new project
Pupils and staff from Cedar House School are proud to be the first school outside of America to team up with The Herren Project, a charity based in the USA.
Founded in 2011 by former professional basketball player Chris Herren, the organisation is focused on prevention and wellness initiatives and aims to provide schools and communities with resources to prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
This year, Cedar House School is proud and looking forward to participating in its Wellness Week in March. Team Leader Damian Maher, who is leading this project, commented:
"Prevention programs have a significant impact on schools. Many young people have stress issues, so this is an excellent opportunity to share their worries and concerns in a safe environment with supportive staff. The Herren Project in the states is doing incredible work, and we hope to replicate this success through our school."
We look forward to hearing more about this great project as it progresses.
