Start Your Career With Us

We will support you every step of the way

Reach Your Potential

Children and young people are at the centre of what we do, but this wouldn’t be possible without our team. With every huge small victory comes recognition of the hard work and dedication from our employees. Here at WG we offer rewarding careers that change lives, but also we understand that careers are not sedentary, we want you to excel and do your best which means offering great opportunities for progression.

A great number of our Registered Manager’s began their journeys as Residential Support Workers, as well as many members of our school senior leadership teams beginning their journeys as teaching assistants and teachers. There is no end of the road here as our careers offer progression into further leadership including regional director and director positions.

We want the very best experiences for our children and young people so we want you to be the very best at what you do. Don’t worry if you’re only at the start of your training, we recognise early careers so we offer great learning and development opportunities to help you towards your goals. Whether it’s career progression or a sector change, we want you to be happy and working towards your own goals whilst providing the best support.

Don’t want to ever lose what makes us what we are. That little bit of magic that we have got. Don’t want to lose it.

Early Careers

We understand that being at the beginning of your career can be both exciting and daunting, but we want to support you every step of the way. Our support network spans the whole company, not only do you have access to colleagues within your work place, but our clinical and senior leadership teams are always an email or phone call away. Many of the skills we look for in candidates are developed on the job and that can take lots of learning, but you will never be on your own. It goes without saying that our notion of huge small victories is centred around our children and young people, however we celebrate them for our team too as they wouldn’t happen without them.

We are proud to offer entry level positions such as residential support workers and teaching assistants so you can begin your career on the job. Not only that, but we provide training and qualifications too. You can see some early career trajectories below, but remember that changing sector is also an option!
