Alastair is the Deputy Pastoral Care Manager at Bridgeway School, here he takes us through his time at WG and why it's such a special place to work.
What do you love most about working for WG?
First and foremost, it’s about helping young people, improving their quality of life by nurturing and supporting them with every aspect of their lives and their wellbeing.
How has working with WG enhanced your skills and professional growth?
We get offered lots of training opportunities and it has improved all my skills as well as me as a person. My training has also given me the opportunity to connect with different people from different professions which improves you as a person.
What do you find most rewarding about working with children and young people in your role?
Seeing them safe, well and happy, as a lot of them have come from mixed backgrounds. As soon as they get out of their taxis in the morning, they know they’re comfortable here and we as a team are key components to that. And seeing them smile is very rewarding!
What inspired you to become a Deputy Pastoral Care Manager?
The main thing that inspired me was being able to help people. Every day I am around vulnerable young people and I get to help improve their quality of life.
