About our speaker
Birgit Forstmaier-James
Occupational Therapist
Birgit trained as an Occupational Therapist in Germany and has been working in the UK for the last 25 years. Throughout her career, she's worked in a variety of settings across different Health Boards and Local Authorities.
For the past 20 years, Birgit has specialised in supporting children and young people aged 0–25, enabling her to gain extensive experience in assessing and delivering interventions for a wide range of needs and conditions, including neurological, physical, and cognitive disorders, as well as neurodivergence and trauma-related presentations.
Birgit has also served as an autism practitioner for over 15 years, working within autism assessment services in both Wales and England.
