Be the difference, be inspired, be you.
Witherslack Group are opening a brand new Children’s Home for young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges. We’re looking for Waking Nights who can offer support and stability so our young people feel safe and happy throughout the night.
We’re looking for someone who’s empathetic, compassionate, resilient and looking for a career that really makes a difference. The impact you’ll have on the young people you work with will be life-changing so making sure you feel well taken care of and confident about your future here is really important to us. We will provide training and development opportunities that allow you to flourish in your role, realising your own ambitions whilst at the same time inspiring our young people to be equally ambitious. All we require is that you have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12months and you’re keen to complete a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) within two years (if you don’t have it or its equivalent already)
Our Children’s Homes are exactly that – homes. By making sure our children’s home is a great place to stay, you’ll be having a lasting positive impact on the lives of the young people in your care. It’s truly rewarding work with some amazing benefits – not least the sense of pride that comes from being part of something truly life-changing.
When you step into one of our children’s homes, you’ll feel the sense of warmth, happiness and fun-and-laughter that we get so excited about. The great thing for you is, you won’t be alone in your goal, you’ll have all the support you need from the team. Our work with the children isn’t about us, we are a team who are all about the children, all of the time.
This home is part of an Integrated Therapeutic Provision providing a complete package of residential care and on-site learning. The homes and learning centre work together to ensure our young people can achieve the best possible outcomes, and with 7 acres of beautiful countryside surrounding the site there’s every opportunity for our young people to play and explore their surroundings!
Day to day you’ll…
…Get involved in all the little things that, while our young people might not even notice, make a lasting difference to their quality of life.
• Be there for the young people in the night if they way up feeling ill, upset or unable to sleep
• Complete any cleaning that needs to be done
• Keep up to date with paperwork and reporting
• Carry out building checks and keep the house safe
