Lakeside School caters for children with complex learning and communication difficulties.  The school adopts a holistic approach towards children and provides a high level of quality education and care. We seek to provide a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum, in order to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of the pupils. This also prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

“I feel 100% confident that my son is in the best place possible for him and he loves it. I will never fully be able to express my full gratitude to you, for helping him belong somewhere.”

Lakeside Run for Cancer Research

On Sunday 10th October 2010, staff and pupils of Lakeside School and their friends and families took part in a 6k ‘Fun Run’ in aid of Cancer Research UK and Fair Trade.

Mr Jim Toolan and Miss Gemma Critchley, class teachers at Lakeside, spent a great number of weeks organising the fun run, which was held in Halewood, Liverpool.

Victoria Size, Head Teacher commented: “We were thrilled with the response from family and friends of Lakeside School, who all dug deep to raise as much money as possible for two very worthy causes and we did not expect to raise the amount that we did, particularly as we are such a small school. I am delighted that we have been able to donate £2500 in total to our two causes.”

Lizzie Jones, Senior Area Manager for Cancer Research UK commented: “It was lovely to meet you all and thank you once again for your support! The amount raised for Cancer Research UK is tremendous and will go such a long way in contributing to our work to find new ways to treat, prevent and diagnose cancer I would like to thank the staff, pupils, their families and friends for organising and supporting the hugely successful fun run! Our work would not be possible without your support. We have made significant progress in understanding and treating cancer, yet one in three of us will still get cancer at some point in our lives so there’s much more we need to do. Our vital work, funded entirely by the public, will mean that many more people will survive. Thank you.”
