JBE Training & Development was originally formed to provide training and quality assurance to the Witherslack Group of Schools and Witherslack Care and Education Initiatives. As well as our ‘Group’ we now work with, research, design and deliver programmes to many specialist and mainstream education and care organisations throughout the UK.

JBE T&D prides itself on providing quality training and development courses that enable both individuals and teams to discover their true potential through the power of dynamic, relevant and innovative learning. Our range of courses include extensive staff induction, ILM leadership and Management, ILM Coaching and Mentoring and CPD programmes for a range of educational and care environments. All our training courses meet National Standards and the majority are accredited through nationally recognised agencies.

NVQ

Health & Social Care ‘Children and Young People’ awards are the required qualification for any staff working within a residential setting for children or young adults. They are available as a Level 3 qualification for staff with supervisory responsibility for children and young people and Level 4 for staff in a team leader role.

Aims

One of the main aims of the NVQ program is to allow staff to demonstrate that they have the required knowledge to fulfil their work responsibilities and show how they apply this knowledge to everyday practice.

Program Delivery

At JBE Training & Development we deliver a unique program that includes 5 specific underpinning knowledge workshops.  These are delivered by our in-house specialist trainers in order to ensure that all candidates have the required level of knowledge.

Workshops

 Our workshops are:

  • Legislation, Policy and Practice
  • Values and Principles
  • Aspects of Child Development
  • Health & Safety within a Childcare Setting
  • Staffing Procedures and Meeting Individual Needs

Course Content

The course content for Level 3 and 4 includes four core units covering:

  • Wellbeing and Protection of Children & Young People
  • Health & Safety
  • Communication
  • Staff Development

Candidates select a further four units out of a possible 112 (Level 3) or 46 (Level 4) relevant to their job role.

Our NVQ program is delivered every six months at Lupton Tower. Bespoke programs for individual service settings can be arranged directly with the organisation.
