Chilworth House Upper School - Pastoral Care

We maintain a very high view of young people and as part of the Witherslack Group of Schools our philosophy is based on the ‘Resilience Theory’; which itself holds to the principle that–

The individual has a combination of personal characteristics and skills that allow them to function beyond what would be expected in the light of that person’s vulnerability or exposure to adversities.

It holds to a view of people that is positive and which has a high expectation of the individual’s ability to change.
This is combined with the 5 outcomes identified in ‘Every Child Matters’
  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well being
To help the care of the pupils they will all have an Individual Care & Education Plan as well as an Individual Behaviour Management Plan.
