Chilworth House Upper School - Admissions Procedure

Referrals to the school are normally made through a child’s Local Education Authority and/or Social Services Department. Formal application for placement should be accompanied by the Statement of Special Educational Needs and associated reports, and should be made to the Principal. A social history report should also be included if available.

If initial assessment of the documentation suggests that the child’s needs can be met, an interview will be offered and the pupil, parents and local authority representatives will be invited to visit the school. A decision on placement will be conveyed within seven days of interview. Children are considered for admission irrespective of their religious, cultural, racial and linguistic background and beliefs.
