Chilworth House School is a co-educational day special school, catering for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 pupils. Situated in a rural environment on the outskirts of Oxford. Pupils will primarily have complex educational needs, communication difficulties & challenging behaviours. We have taken ownership of our curriculum, with the cross-curricular model built upon a series of core values.

"Both my husband and I love the school, it has a wonderful warmth to it as soon as you walk through the door. We just knew that our son would achieve so much there and for the first time we felt the fog lifting".

Chilworth House School Pupil Information

Who will look after me?
In the school there is a team of staff there who will make sure that you are safe and well. The Head Teacher of the school makes sure all of the staff look after you properly. In your class there will be a teacher and a teaching assistant, both of whom will spend time with you making sure that you are happy and that you are listened to. The school has Care Team who are there to make sure you are looked after throughout the day.
What do I do if I don’t feel well?
Tell any of the staff and they will try their best to make you feel more comfortable. If they can’t help, they will ask somebody else to help; this person may be a nurse, doctor or a dentist.
What if something happens that I am not happy with?
Within the school it is ok to make a complaint if you are not happy with something and the staff will try their best to make things better for you. If they can’t help there are Complaints Officers in the school that you can talk to. When you move into the school, your teacher will spend time with you explaining what to do if you are not happy.
How do I get to school?
A taxi will collect you from your home and take you to school and pick you up afterwards. There will be a taxi driver and an escort in the vehicle with you.
What can I bring to school?
Pupils are allowed to bring games consoles, MP3 players etc into the taxi. These are handed to staff on arrival and locked away securely until the end of the day. Mobile phones are not allowed in the taxis or in school under any circumstances.
