An Oxford school which provides quality education and care for children and young people with special needs unveiled its newly refurbished facilities at an open day for parents and pupils.

Chilworth House in Wheatley is part of The Witherslack Group’s growing portfolio and caters for pupils aged five to 14.

More than £100k has been invested in the refurbishment which converted a 200 year old coach house on-site into a brand new dining and assembly room and a meeting and training room.

Bob Marchbank, head teacher at Chilworth House, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our new rooms which have enabled us increase our registration from 24 to 30 pupils.

“The children are extremely excited about being able to have hot meals on-site and the meeting and training room is a fantastic facility for in-house training and conferences.

“We are now looking to further enhance our provision by developing a secondary school within close proximity of Chilworth House, which will enable us to provide continuous education to our pupils and which will carry on the ethos of The Witherslack Group.”
