We have taken ownership of our curriculum, with the cross-curricular model built upon a series of core values.

"Both my husband and I love the school, it has a wonderful warmth to it as soon as you walk through the door. We just knew that our son would achieve so much there and for the first time we felt the fog lifting".

Chilworth House School - Admissions Procedure

We are presently registered as a co-educational day school for Key Stage 1, 2, & 3 children who are subject to a Statement of Special Educational Needs, which indicates that a child has such needs associated with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours. Children are considered for admission irrespective of their religious, cultural, racial and linguistic background and beliefs.

Admissions Procedure

Referrals to the school are normally made through a child’s Local Education Authority and/or Social Services Department.

Formal application for placement should be accompanied by the Statement of Special Educational Needs and associated reports, and should be made to the Head Teacher. A social history report should also be included if available.

If initial assessment of the documentation suggests that the child’s needs can be met, an interview will be offered which affords the pupil, parents and local authority representatives the opportunity to visit the school.

A decision on placement will be conveyed within seven days of interview.

After approximately 6 to 8 weeks a post admission review will be held to determine future needs and resources. The Individual Care and Education Plan will also be finalised.
