Chilworth House School is a co-educational day special school, catering for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 pupils. Situated in a rural environment on the outskirts of Oxford. Pupils will primarily have complex educational needs, communication difficulties & challenging behaviours. We have taken ownership of our curriculum, with the cross-curricular model built upon a series of core values.

"Both my husband and I love the school, it has a wonderful warmth to it as soon as you walk through the door. We just knew that our son would achieve so much there and for the first time we felt the fog lifting".

A Word from the Head

Dear Parents & Carers,

Happy New Year!! I hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas.

Last term was busy but productive and we are looking forward to an equally enjoyable term this term.

We are pleased to welcome a number of New Pupils to KS1/2.  We wish them all well.

We sadly said goodbye to Mrs Craig and Mrs Charmley last term.  Mrs Charmley and her family are moving to Guernsey next month so we wish them well in their new venture.

We are pleased to welcome Miss Rapkins and Miss Mogavero as staff members in KS2 and Mr Palin, Ms Devey, Mr Gibbons, Ms Moore and Ms Murphy to KS3.

The refurbishment of Groom’s Farm into our new Upper school is steadily progressing. This will also help give the school a homely feel, replicating that achieved in the Primary school.  The teaching areas are spacious have plenty of natural light and fantastic views over the surrounding countryside since most are located on the first floor of the building.

We will be changing our catering arrangements from this term, using a new company called Apetito.  Their meals are frozen and oven cooked, rather than microwaved.  We have already had trial days and the food was warmly received by staff and pupils.

Yours
S. Garner
Acting Head Teacher
