“My son is coming up to his sixth year at Cedar House and words cannot describe the way I feel on how far he has come and the excellent support of all members of staff. You all deserve medals. You've turned my lad around 100%".

Cedar House School – Therapeutic Services

"Undoubtedly, much of the credit for this pupil's progress must go down to the help and support that he has received from the staff of the school.  This is much appreciated by all concerned in this Authority and has hopefuly set the foundations to enable him to make further gains in his life." Children's Services

Educational Psychologist

The school has a permanent Educational Psychologist, who provides support and advice to pupils and staff regarding a wide range of issues including behaviour management, classroom organisation and specific requirements for individual pupils.

Mental Health Worker

The school also has a School Mental Health Worker, who is linked to the Morecambe Bay Primary Health Care Trust CAMHS Service and a psychotherapist who works with individual pupils on a weekly basis.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and Language therapy is accessed for individual pupils through either the Morecambe Bay Primary Health Care Trust or independent practitioners.

Pupils may also, depending on individual needs, be given access to independent play therapy. The school has excellent links with psychiatrists having clinical responsibility for pupils who receive medication. There are well defined policies and procedures in place for pupils receiving medication and for mental health issues.
